Our Values
Our organization has a variety of values that Rainbow Girls are taught from the very beginning. Each color of the Rainbow represents seven different values that Rainbow Girls uphold in their daily lives.
Red
Love yourself, family, friends, and neighbors. We are an organization that is full of love and the relationships that are built here are strong and last lifetimes.
Orange
Religion or spirituality can help guide you through life. Although we were founded on the Christian religion, Rainbow accepts and embraces any girl who has a belief in a higher power.
Yellow
Nature is a key component to our lives and we must not forget to spend time with her. There is a calming element to being in nature, and we often ignore the true beauty that lies around us each and every day.
Green
Immortality reminds us that we all must die, but death is not the greatest enemy. While death is not something young girls want to think about, it is a part of life, so we must live our lives so that we may leave footprints on the lives of those left behind.
Blue
Fidelity shows the importance of true friendship. Rainbow is built on a foundation of friendship and sisterhood. Being loyal to those around you is one of the most important things you can do in life.
Indigo
Patriotism for your country and respect for those who lay down their lives protecting it. We should all show respect for our country and service men and women who risk their lives to give us the lives we presently lead and keep us safe.
Violet
Service for others is one the most important things you can accomplish. Living a life of service allows you to be a better person for yourself and for those around you. Service is what our order was founded on and we must continue to serve those around us the best way we can.
Along with these seven lessons, Rainbow has three other key values: Faith, Hope, and Charity.
Similar to the lesson of Religion, Faith teaches us that, whatever our religion may be, having Faith by our side will help us to accomplish many things. Having something to believe in that is bigger than ourselves can help us lead a more fulfilled and productive life.
Hope teaches us that there is always someone there. No matter how dark the world may seem, a little glimmer of hope will always be there to guide you back to light. Hope is designed to be there when we need it most. It follows us no matter where we go, and allows us to see the good in those around us.
Charity reminds us of the importance of giving to others. Similar to the lesson of Service, Charity reminds us that there is more than what is right in front of us and we must embrace acts of service as they come to us. Charity allows us to live fuller lives without asking for the recognition.
